FRWA Annual General Meeting 2024

The 32st Annual General Meeting of The Friends of the Royal West of England Academy will be held in the main galleries at the RWA on Monday 25 November 2024 at 6.30pm.

The quorum for the meeting is 25 members.  This includes all attending Trustees. Attendance is in person or by online or postal vote.

If you’d like to attend in person, mingle in the galleries after hours with a drink and hear from new Director, Ren Renwick and the new Vice President, Hamish Young RWA, you can book your free place here. We’d love to see you.

Voting

You can vote online, by post or in person at the meeting.

Voting online: you can vote and submit matters arising, AOB and other queries using our online form here.

Online voting can be done up to 24 November, but please submit any Matters Arising, AOB or queries and concerns in advance of the meeting by 15 November 2024.

Voting by post: alternatively you can print and complete the Postal Voting Paper and Nomination Form, and return along with any matters arising, AOB or queries to the FRWA Hon. Secretary by 15 November via post (c/o The FRWA Administrator, RWA, Queen’s Road, Bristol BS8 1PX) or scan and email to friends@rwa.org.uk 

We will respond in writing prior to the AGM, and members will be informed at the AGM of Matters Arising and items of AOB received.

Committee Members (Trustees) Standing for Election

Officers serve for a maximum of five years.   Those standing for election are:

1.  Andrew Nixon as Chair (appointed January 2022). Proposed by Jane Boot, seconded by Laurel Smart.

2.  Sue Quirk as Vice-Chair (appointed November 2022). Proposed by Andrew Nixon, seconded by Monica Cuellar.

3.  Catherine Davey as Hon. Secretary (appointed November 2023) Proposed by Laurel Smart, seconded by Stephen Noreiko.

4.  Stephen Noreiko as Hon. Treasurer (appointed January 2022). Proposed by Sue Quirk, seconded by Catherine Davey.

5.  The Committee (Ordinary Members)

These committee members are voted for as a group (rather than individually).  There is no time limit on being an ‘ordinary’ Trustee.  The group standing for election is:
