RWA: A History and a Future – free online talk – 6 December

RWA Director Alison Bevan will give an exclusive free online talk to Friends – sign up now…

These are very exciting times for the Royal West of England Academy. The current renovations promise a stunning future and once complete the RWA will not only be one of the most beautiful, but also one of the most accessible and welcoming art galleries in the country.

While looking forward to a promising future, we’d like to take this opportunity to reflect on the RWA’s glorious past. Alison will give us a glimpse into this organisation’s extraordinary history, its origins as Bristol Academy of Fine Art in 1844 and some fascinating discoveries made during the current building project. Alison will also take us on a virtual ‘hard hat tour’ of the work in progress.

This is a free talk for Friends of the RWA. If anyone would like to make a donation there will be an opportunity to do so at the end of the talk

  1. Some time ago, Alison Bevan offered to give a talk to u3a in the Chew Valley about her work at the RWA. Then lockdown prevented us going ahead. We wondered if she would still be able to find time to visit us.
