Friends of the Royal West of England committee members, Jane Boot and Laurel Smart, will be showing in this year’s North Bristol Art Trail (link) on the weekend of 26th and 27th November.
Jane was previously the Chair of the committee and now organises the Friends exhibitions. Laurel helps with the exhibitions, social media and artists’ talks.

Jane paints in acrylic and watercolour. Her enchanting work is mainly intuitive, imagined landscapes. Laurel also works in acrylic and creates striking, large scale abstract canvases. Colour is incredibly important to both of them. As well as working together on the committee they support each other in their artistic endeavours.

This year the Art Trail theme is ‘Art from the Heart’, acknowledging how art has sustained everyone. In recognition of how difficult life is for many people, some North Bristol artists are making donations from their sales to charity. Jane and Laurel have made work specifically to support St Peter’s Hospice and UNICEF.

Here’s wishing Jane and Laurel success and many sales!
